Hey guys! It’s here. The Full Bobbin shop and community are officially OPEN! 🎉We opened for business last night. At 5:29pm, to be precise. I was that excited that I took note of the time I toggled the switch to LIVE for the final time. It was previously live for a minute or two here and there, as I tested all the features functioned as they were supposed to.
Six months. That’s how long I’ve had my nose to the grindstone to get to this moment, and I am SO excited to finally show you what I’ve been building.
Why I built it
I keep seeing the same story. Someone discovers polymer clay, falls head over heels with the gorgeous results and easy to learn techniques. And before long they buy a 3D printer. Then comes the realization: they have no idea how to design anything for polymer clay. The printer is ready, but there’s nothing to print.
That friction? I wanted to take it away. So I did.
The shop is packed with value, and I mean that. It opens with 10+ product lines, and at least 5 more are already in the works. Yeah, I roll like that. Thick in the midst of things I’m already planning another bevy of “things.” And it’s not just 3D-printable tools here. You’ll also find gorgeous images to print your own water soluble transfer designs. Each one is perfectly formatted and includes a template so you can just pop the image in the template and print your gorgeous water soluble transfers on your home laser printer.
The very first thing I designed
Before anything else, I designed the Standard and Thin varieties of polymer clay cutters. Why? Because I knew they were missing, and I knew they were needed. If you like working in thin slabs, your cutter should still imprint the lovely design on your clay. Now it does.
The work behind it
I won’t pretend it was all sunshine. There were nights I stayed up until 2am improving my vector graphic skills. Because, hey, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks!
And not every late night was filled with joy. Some ended in tears, with me exhausted and frustrated because I couldn’t get THAT button to do THAT thing on my website. But oh, the satisfaction of sticking with it and finally finding the solution!
And the moment I had my WedgeLock Technology™ blade dialed in just right? I swear the clouds parted and the angels sang.
