A Little Something from My Workbench
Some of my favorite tools begin with a very simple thought: I could really use a…(insert a need here!)
So I make one.
Sometimes it’s for polymer clay. Sometimes it’s for organizing my studio. And sometimes an idea sends me down a completely unexpected rabbit hole. If I create something that earns its keep around here, I figure it might be useful in your creative space too.
That’s what you’ll find in Specialty Tools: the useful little things I’ve designed for myself, tested in real life, and decided were simply too handy not to share. I hope it helps you too!
Printing Recommendations
The following settings are shared from our own successful test prints using Bambu Lab PLA Basic filament. They are intended as a helpful starting point rather than universal settings.
- Material: PLA Basic
- Layer height: 0.20 mm
- Supports: Not required
- Build plate adhesion: Outer brim highly recommended, particularly for lids, to help prevent corner lifting.
- Orientation: Components are already oriented upside down for printing.
Actual results will depend on your printer, filament, calibration, and slicer settings. Please review your sliced model before printing.
These recommendations are provided as a courtesy; printer-specific setup, calibration, and slicer troubleshooting are not included with your purchase.
Additional Printing Note — 5×4 Condo (Holds 20)
The 5×4 Condo includes both the tray and matching lid in one generic 3MF file. Because this is our largest size, the two components may extend beyond your printer’s build plate when first imported together.
Simply arrange the tray and lid on separate build plates in your slicer before printing. Both components are designed for support-free printing and are already oriented correctly.
This is expected and does not indicate a problem with the models.
