Meet the Tugboat Sander—a compact, two-piece sanding block designed with small polymer clay pieces in mind.
At 2.5″ x 1″ x 1.5″ (64 x 25 x 38 mm) it holds a 1″ × 5″ (25 × 127 mm) strip of sandpaper, giving you a small sanding surface that’s easy to control while making economical use of larger sheets. Just cut your preferred grit into strips and you’re ready to go.
The raised handle gives you a comfortable, substantial grip while you work. The handle piece slides into the sanding base with a dovetail connection, trapping the sandpaper securely between the two pieces—no additional hardware needed.
And yes, once I realized it looked a bit like a tiny tugboat, there was really no naming it anything else.
